With a large travel bag slung over his shoulder, the Hero of Time, Link, stepped into the foyer of the giant mansion he had been directed too. His sudden arrival in the place called Nexus City had been unsettling enough. The sight of the interior of the manor only served to further that unsettling feeling. The décor seemed pleasant enough, but the sheer size and magnitude of the place almost frightened the green-clad hero. For a long while, all he did was stand in awe at the sheer magnificence of where he would now be living. Finally, a tall, elderly gentleman approached Link and greeted him with a stern, yet pleasant looking face.
“Hello, sir, and welcome to the Smash Manor. I am the butler of the house. You may call me Jeeves,” said the butler as he bowed politely to Link.
“What kind of a name is Jeeves?” asked Link earning a not-so-pleasant look from Jeeves. Link slapped his forehead then and realized that he had been rude. Why did Zelda have to bother to teach him manners and proper etiquette? “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude.”
“It's quite all right, sir. May I take your bag and show you to your room, sir?” asked Jeeves as he moved to take Link's bag, even though Link hadn't indicated that he wanted him to.
“Sure, I guess. This place is pretty huge and I think I would get lost if you didn't show me,” said Link as he gave his bag to Jeeves.
“Right this way, sir. Please do be careful to play close attention to everything in the manor. It will help you find your way should you become lost,” said Jeeves as he turned and began heading up a huge staircase, Link following close behind him.
Link did as Jeeves told him and paid close attention to what was inside the manor. There was artwork the likes of which Link had never seen, though in truth, the only artwork he had seen was the artwork inside of Hyrule Castle. There were too many rooms to count, some of them with doors, some without, but he got the feeling that every single one of them was very large.
As Jeeves and Link made their way towards the West Wing of the manor, they walked into a hallway, and at the hallway's entrance, Link noticed a strange looking symbol hanging from the ceiling and dangling near the entrance.
“What does that symbol mean?” asked Link as he pointed to it.
“For simplicity's sake, that symbol means 'male.' All the male fighters will be staying in this wing of the manor and all the female fighters will be staying on the other side, in the East Wing,” replied Jeeves as they continued on down the hall. Soon after, he arrived at a door, and on the front of it, was Link's name and the 001. “This is your room, sir.”
“Thank you...Jeeves, right?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Thank you, Jeeves. I'll get settled in myself,” said Link as he took his bag back from the butler.
“Very well, sir. If you require I disagreeistance or guidance, just ring the bell in your room. It is sitting on your nightstand. Farewell for now, sir,” said Jeeves as he politely bowed and then turned to leave. Once he was gone, Link turned towards his room, opened the door, and went inside.
To his surprise, his room in the manor looked exactly like his house in the Kokiri Forest. He didn't know how, but it did. The only difference was that it was larger to accommodate his adult size. He stepped back out of his room, closed the door, reopened the door, and stepped back inside to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. What was up with this place? Deciding not to question it too much, Link finally ventured all the way into his room and shut the door behind him.
“I get the feeling a lot of weird stuff is going to happen here,” said Link to himself as he set his bag down on his bed and began to unpack.
